The Art of the Bow Tie

Bow Tie

Our very own leasing consultant Jeremy Michael Calhoun is also a resident artist here at the ilume. Jeremy Michael Calhoun presents his first collection of more than forty original bow ties done with mixed media fabrics, metals, wood, and plastic. The bow tie originated among Croatian mercenaries during the Prussian wars of the 17th century, and was soon adopted by the french with the formal name cravat, which is French for “Croat”. Bow ties have always been associated with different professions such a architects, attorneys, educators, and politicians, but have graduated to an art form in recent years. The artist’s adventurous and unique adaptions have been a placement for fashion aficionados and collectors alike.

The art show will be held at the ilume Gallery located in the ilume shops at the Cedar Springs Apartments call the ilume located at 4123 Cedar Springs Road, Dallas Texas 75219. The event will begin tomorrow (June 20th) and end on August 10th 2012. The artist reception is tomorrow night (June 20th).
